Therapy for Individuals

Life feels different when you are carrying more than your nervous system can hold. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with yourself. At EMDR Transformations Counseling we use a trauma informed and whole person approach so you can heal emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Our therapists are trained in EMDR and other evidence-based modalities that support deep and lasting change.

What therapy helps with:

Clients come to therapy for many reasons.

  • trauma
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • stress and burnout
  • grief
  • childhood emotional neglect
  • life transitions
  • identity challenges
  • people pleasing
  • boundary setting
  • relationship patterns that keep repeating
  • nervous system overwhelm
  • chronic self doubt or shame

We also support clients experiencing postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, birth trauma, or the emotional challenges that emerge during pregnancy or early parenthood.

How therapy works at ETC:

Therapy is not about talking in circles. It is about understanding where your symptoms come from and helping your nervous system process what has been kept inside.

Your therapist will:

  • listen without judgment
  • understand trauma and nervous system patterns
  • help you explore beliefs that shaped your life
  • offer warmth, clarity, and clinical depth
  • work at a pace that feels safe for you

EMDR as the foundation:

Every therapist on our team is trained in EMDR and EMDR Therapy is at the core of our approach. This allows us to help clients move beyond coping strategies and work through the root causes of their pain.

If you want to understand how EMDR works, you can read more about the full EMDR process on our EMDR Therapy page.

Scheduling:

Our client care team can help you get started and match you with the therapist who is the best fit.

Your pathway forward:

Your therapist will collaborate with you to create a plan that reflects your history, your goals, and the way your nervous system responds to stress. EMDR is a central part of the work for most of our clients because it helps the brain process the memories and experiences that shape current patterns. We integrate complementary approaches such as somatic experiencing, parts work, mindfulness-based tools, and attachment focused methods to support stabilization, deepen insight, and strengthen adaptive processing within the EMDR protocol.

Together you will explore the adaptations your brain created to protect you earlier in life, especially those that once helped you cope but now keep you stuck. Through EMDR and these supporting modalities, we work to update older learning patterns so your brain and body can respond from a more grounded and empowered place. This process may include preparation, resourcing, identifying core memory networks, and strengthening new adaptive responses that support the life you want to build.
