Our Approach

Healing is not only about reducing symptoms. It is about understanding what your mind and body have carried and giving each part the support it needs. At EMDR Transformations Counseling we use a whole body approach that strengthens your emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing so you can create real and lasting change.

The ETC Methodology is built on three interconnected pillars.

Emotional Support

EMDR therapy for deep healing

Emotional healing often begins with understanding your story and making sense of what you have lived through. Our therapists are trained in EMDR and other evidence-based approaches that help you process painful experiences, release what has been stuck, and build new beliefs that reflect your worth.

Clients come to us for many reasons. Trauma. Anxiety. Stress. Depression. Grief. Relationship patterns that keep repeating. Together we work at the pace of your nervous system so you can feel more grounded, connected, and confident in your day to day life.

Mental Support

Psychiatric care that supports your therapy

Mental wellness is a key part of the healing process. When symptoms feel overwhelming or therapy alone is not enough, medication can offer important stability. Our psychiatric nurse practitioner provides trauma informed and collaborative medication support that fits your larger therapeutic goals.

Clients often seek assistance for anxiety, depression, trauma related symptoms, sleep difficulties, and overwhelming stress. We also support clients who are pregnant or postpartum and experiencing emotional changes, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, or difficulty adjusting to parenthood. Medication decisions are made thoughtfully, with clear education and attention to safety, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The goal is to help your brain have enough support so therapy can move forward more effectively and daily life becomes more manageable.

Perinatal and Postpartum Mental Health

Pregnancy and the months after birth can bring intense emotional, hormonal, and physical shifts. Many clients feel confused or ashamed when symptoms appear after birth or intensify during pregnancy. These experiences are far more common than most people realize.

Support is available for postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, birth trauma, intrusive thoughts, and difficulty adjusting to new parenthood. Care is coordinated with your therapist so your emotional, mental, and physical needs stay aligned.

Physical Support

Restoring safety and calm in the body

The body remembers. Even when you are not actively thinking about what happened, your muscles, breath, and sleep can carry the impact of stress and trauma. Our massage therapist offers bodywork that is informed by nervous system science and sensitive to the needs of clients who have trauma histories.

Sessions focus on calming the nervous system, easing tension, and helping your body learn that it is safe to relax. This kind of physical support can deepen the work you are already doing in therapy and help you feel more at home in your own body.

When emotional, mental, and physical support are integrated, clients often feel more grounded, more connected to themselves, and more capable of creating the future they want. This is why the ETC Methodology works. It does not treat only one part of you. It supports the whole person.
